Building a Campfire There are many different campf Essay ire structures that can be built to start a fire while camping. The most common are the teepee, log cabin, dugout, and tunnel structures. Almost anyone can build these fires if he or she follows some key points. A fire needs three elements: air, fuel, and an ignition of some kind. For a campfire the air element is easily accessible; its the air a person breaths or oxygen. Fuel is equivalent to wood. Sometimes lighter fluid is used to start big fires immediately, but usually when dealing with a campfire the fuel is wood. Ignition can come from a spark, match, or lighter. It is anything that initially starts the fire. Going deeper into wood, there are three categories to classify it under. Kindling is the stuff that is easiest to burn. It could be leaves, dryer lint, or very small twigs. The next size of wood is sticks and small logs. These will range in size from one half inch to two inches in diameter. Anything larger than this is classified as the fuel. The fuel is the big logs that will burn for hours. When a fire is started it needs to be built like this: kindling first, then sticks and small logs, and then the fuel, once the fire is going good. Using this technique with the following fire structures will ensure hot easy fires. The teepee style structure is probably the most used and easiest to build, but doesnt necessarily result in the hottest or longest burning campfire. To build this fire think about the name teepee. The end result before burning this structure looks like an Indians teepee (If the teepee shape is not familiar, then envision a conic shape). Start by placing the intermediate size wood or sticks in the ground in a circular shape about eight to twelve inches in diameter, leaning the tips of the sticks together in the center. The sticks should already start to resemble a teepee shape. Continue layering the walls of the teepee with more sticks, but not too thick, because air needs to be able to pass through the walls easily. Leave a hole on one side large enough to place kindling inside the stick walls. This hole is also left to light the kindling from the inside and may be filled in once the fire is lit. Once this is completed, the structure should be a recognizable teepee or cone shape. The kindling should be lit on the underside inside the teepee walls through the hole that was left. Due to this easy structure, when the smaller sized twigs start to fall in and burn up, larger sized sticks can be placed on the outside in the same manner as before, keeping the teepee shape. A log cabin campfire structure is just as easy to build as a teepee, but must be built more accurately in order for the fire to burn efficiently. In the same way the teepee name resembled its shape, so does the log cabin. Its built by placing two sticks parallel to each other, and than another two on top parallel to each other also, but perpendicular to the previously laid sticks. When viewing the structure from the top it should look like a square. Continuing this procedure while sliding each layer to the middle slightly will produce a pyramid shape without a top. The end result will appear to be a miniature log cabin that grows narrower towards the top. In the center of this cabin is where the kindling is placed. When lighting this structure, a hole might have to be dug under one side if there isnt enough clearance to light the kindling from the bottom side. After its lit, sticks can be laid across the top like a roof, and then eventually the fuel will be laid on top too. The next two structures are to be built when there isnt a fire ring in the campsite and a hole needs to be dug to contain the fire. The first of the two, the dugout, is started by digging a hole. On a very warm, muddy day in the forest of Nowhere, Rachel Springfoot bounded through the trees on her quick feet. She ran as fast as she could on top of the thick layer of moss that covered the forest floor. She sprinted past her favorite climbing tree, her many braids, large and small, streaming out behind her. She smelled the wet dirt and leaves of the forest. She stopped, out of breath, at the tallest tree of her quarter. She started to climb. Watching her climb was quite interesting because she just jumped and never stayed in one spot very long. She just bounced on different branches, often doing flips and tricks along the way. After only a minute or two she came to the top of the tree. The sun was just setting and there was a beautiful pink sky that made everything look orange. Far off on the horizon she saw five great big rock monsters waking from their slumber. She stared in awe at the giant creatures standing up and lumbering off in the opposite direction, toward the Icy Mountains. Rachel could barely see the tips of the black and white glaciers against the burning sun. It had only lasted for a moment, but she had seen what had been foretold. You see, everything in the forest of Nowhere revolves around prophecies. There is a prophecy for everything, including the lives of each youngling. ?How accurate is it to say that the most important result of the collectivisation of agriculture was that it imposed communist control of the countryside? The result of collectivisation of agriculture was that it had imposed communist control as it meant that all farmers got an equal and fair rate exchange from their produce. However some areas were capitalist such as the use of NEP, the idea that the more you work the more you gain and that peasants eventually gained land for their own increasing each individual profit which is not along the lines of communist views. It is accurate to a strong extent that collectivisation of agriculture was that it imposed communist control as Stalin removed capitalist ideas eventually such as the NEP, but by allowing farmers to own their own land meant that communist ideas had to be altered in order for Stalin to keep the support of the people. The political ideas of Stalin were by far to impose communist control. Stalinââ¬â¢s position meant that he could alter existing ideas in order to make them fit in with communist ones and therefore allowing him to take control of areas that before hadnââ¬â¢t followed communist ideas. This is seen when Stalin eliminated the NEP. By doing this he eliminated capitalist ideas as peasants were forced to hand over any land they owned and work on communal farms creating equality and communist control. The collectivisation of these farms meant that all farmers earned the same amount imposing communist control as there wasnââ¬â¢t certain members that earned more and so could cheat the government by selling on products in secret and earning more than others. However, over time more farmers began selling produce to kulaks that would make more money and therefore not following communist ideas. In order to stop this Stalin had to allow a small amount of land to be owned by each farmer, which meant that some capitalist ideas had to be used in order to keep farmers content. This shows how one of the most important results of collectivisation was that it imposed communist control but as people were not happy with this it meant some other ideas had to be brought in to allow a widespread acceptance. The ideology of Stalin was to communise peasants and therefore the government would have a stable income of grain to export and get income from. By collectivising peasants it meant that the government could control the production of grain by having a fixed amount of grain going to the government. This meant that the government could export this grain for a stable income. This had a positive effect for a short period of time before peasants wanted more of a share of grain and so the government had to allow this. This is also an economic advantage from collectivisation as the stable income allowed income for Russia that could go back into the country and therefore improve it. The collectivisation imposed communist control as without it the government wouldnââ¬â¢t have got such a stable income from exports that boosted the economy. Socially controlling the people by keeping them consent was very important. When peasants starting to act against the government by breaking machinery and killing off animals rather then hand them over to the government this mean that the government needed to take action. In order to solve this problem Stalin bought in a scheme that allowed each peasant to own a small piece of land in which they could work on and keep all the harvest from that land for themselves. This created a widespread acceptance for peasants and meant that people would accept Stalinââ¬â¢s policies and the communist control. This shows that the collectivisation had some problems that the government had to deal with that meant communist control wasnââ¬â¢t successful and so other capitalist ideas were needed to keep farmers happy. In conclusion, the most important result of collectivisation was that it imposed communist control as it meant that the government had control of the people socially, by allowing them to have their own land, and politically. It also meant that the government had a stable income from exports of grain allowing Russia to use that income to improve other areas. Without this control the government wouldnââ¬â¢t of been able to have the economic boost.

The players are responsible for forming strategies by both developing and breaking alliances with their competitors. The game is set in Europe during World War I with most teams beginning with similar resources. Each player-team competes as an either Austria-Hungary, Turkey, Italy, England, France, Russia, or Germany. With at least three home-center game pieces on the board, there are strategic movements in order to control one of the eighteen supply centers. This involves phases of negotiation prior to movement of the game piece. There is no factor of luck. The main variable in the game is each teamââ¬â¢s ability to convince the others to do what they want. The core game strategy is negotiation. This board game at times mirrors actual history and educates the players as to the method by which a world war can happen.
